sammy. /REVERSIESは、"ワンマンオルタナロックバンド(?)"というスタイルを掲げ、グランジ・オルタナティブロックを基盤に、パンク、エモ、ロックンロールなどの洋楽を根底のルーツに持つ独自の音楽を展開する。
双極性障害と向き合いながらも、2024年に本格的な音楽活動を開始し、同年12月18日には1st AL “LANDFILL”を発表。グランジ／オルタナロックをDIYの荒さごと鳴らし切り、自己否定を抱える痛みや苛立ちを剥き出しの衝動として音にした。
彼は他にもノンバイナリーなどを公言し、LGBTQA+のコミュニティーなど、マイノリティーや心の痛みを抱える誰かにに寄り添い、ともに叫び、痛みを共有するようなメッセージを込めた曲が多く存在する。英語詞も多く交えながら、国内外のオーディエンスへ届くよう、音楽を作り続けている。
sammy. / REVERSIES presents himself as a “one-person alternative rock band(?)”, crafting a distinctive sound rooted in grunge and alternative rock, with deep influences from Western punk, emo, and rock ’n’ roll.
While navigating life with bipolar disorder, he officially launched his music career in 2024. On December 18 of the same year, he released his debut album LANDFILL, delivering raw, DIY-driven grunge and alternative rock that laid bare the pain, frustration, and impulses born from self-doubt.
Openly identifying as non-binary, sammy. also creates music that stands alongside minorities and those carrying emotional pain. Many of his songs are messages of solidarity — screaming together, sharing wounds, and confronting inner turmoil. Incorporating a significant amount of English lyrics, he continues to create music aimed at reaching audiences both in Japan and abroad.
